Description

This is the true story about Hannah, a happy and imaginative little girl growing up in rural Kenya. But suddenly Hannah and her little sister are left all alone with the death of their parents and are faced with a desperate-looking future. They find temporary refuge and hope for a better life with her grandparents. But that hope fades when they are not able to support the young girls.
Then, in the midst of what seems like a hopeless future, hope again returns when Hannah and her sister meet a man named Daddy Mulli, and a woman named Mommy Esther. Both girls are rescued by Mully Children’s Family where Hannah discovers a new world of opportunity. From living destitute on the street she is given a safe dormitory to sleep in, schooling to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor, food and medical care, and a wonderful family of over 500 brothers and sisters. For the first time she realizes she could be set free from her past. From her pain. From her prison. From the person she thought she was destined to remain. In pursuing her dreams, Hannah learns the importance of friendships, the joy of serving others, and she discovers how her faith in Christ can sustain her in the challenges of life to become who she is designed to be.
Daddy and Mommy Mulli give Hannah the parental love she has been searching for, but most of all, she learns that life is about being in a relationship with God. This is her dramatic and adventurous life journey

a note from Hannah
My name is Hannah, and this is the story of my life! The author, Paul Boge, has captured every inspiring and true detail of it. It certainly was not easy losing both parents and finding myself all alone with my little sister, especially because I was a girl and only a child at that. I had no hope and felt that it was the end of my life. I had no people with whom I could share my pains and thoughts, and I never dreamt I could ever achieve even one of my life goals.
Then, hope was shown to me by a man they call Daddy Mulli (Dr. Charles Mulli) and a lady called Mommy (Mrs. Esther Mulli), who are the founders of Mully Children’s Family. They are my parents, whom I love so much. Since the day I arrived, Daddy and Mommy Mulli have shown me unconditional love, care, and protection in the absence of my biological parents. I know all this has been possible only through God’s intervention.
At such a young age, I went through so many hardships, often feeling hopeless and with no one to take care of me, but despite all this, I never gave up. After the death of my parents left me a total orphan, I now know it was God who sent His servants Daddy and Mommy Mulli to my rescue. Daddy Mulli has been such a good father to me. He has been my mentor, and as I watched the way he responded to life’s difficulties and saw where he let God bring him, it became the personal inspiration and driving force of my life.
It is my hope and prayer that as you read my story it will impact you positively and you will learn to appreciate even the little things of life and, like me, you will see that all things in life can become part of the road to shaping your future to who you want to become.
a note from Isabella
Hannah’s story as written in this book brings back so many fond memories. I especially thank God for my encounter with Hannah at Mully Children’s Family. As friends, we lived together like sisters despite our ethnic differences. I found that our lives had so many similarities as we passed through the same kind of difficult situations as young girls and in them shared our undying love of God.
Our loving parents, Daddy and Mommy Mulli, have shown us great care and love from the very day we joined the family. They have always been on our side, especially when we needed their guidance. God has blessed them and their help to us abundantly.
Hannah’s life really inspired me and showed me that if anyone trusts in God all things are possible and our past experiences do not determine our future lives.
Being brought up in MCF, I can testify that it is indeed a family where hope has been restored to the lives of the hopeless. MCF gives the best care and serves the less fortunate young people and marginalized members of our society. I am amazed how God has always provided for our family and we have never lacked anything.
I am proud to be part of the biggest family in the world.
“Hannah’s story magnificently illustrates the healing power of the Mully Model that Charles and Esther Mulli have built over the last 30 years. Furthermore, Hannah’s life reveals a key truth from the Gospels, that once we surrender everything and accept that God is in control—even when everything seems out of control—we can find contentment.”

“ Hannah’s Hope is just that. A story of hope because of God’s great love for each child. A love modelled so profoundly by Mully Children’s Family—Hannah’s family. Having known Hannah for many years, Paul Boge brings her into the reader’s home and heart to make the telling of her story so very real.”

“ Hannah’s Hope is a wonderful glimpse into the life of one of the many, many destitute children that Mully Children’s Family has rescued. As you read this true story you will feel that you get to know Hannah—her fears, her struggles, her hopes, and her dreams. You can picture her bunk bed, her dormitory, her classroom, her hundreds of sisters and brothers. One day you may actually get to travel to Kenya and see the love in this family, this amazing work of God. It is my privilege to have been to MCF Kenya eight times and to be on the Canadian board of Mully Children’s Family. When I visit MCF Kenya and think of Charles Mulli I often think of the queen of Sheba’s comments: ‘It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom. Nevertheless I did not believe the reports, until I came and my eyes had seen it. And behold, the half was not told me.’ Hannah’s Hope will give you a small taste of how God is at work today.”

“Paul Boge has a unique talent of bringing us into the world of MCF and Kenya. Paul has effectively taken one of the thousands of stories to help the world understand the personal but complex unique work of MCF, which has effectively released so much potential in so many marginalized and impoverished Kenyan children.
Having had the privilege of periodically experiencing and getting to know Hannah, Isabella, and many others of the MCF Family, through various visits in Kenya, and then reading their story, I am reminded of what kinds of miracles are happening on an ongoing basis at MCF.
Dr. Charles Mulli, Daddy for thousands, has not only created a complex system that rescues and rehabilitates but also has made the children into the largest family in the world. A family made up of many individual stories, each unique and a miracle in its own right.
This book is a must read for whoever wants to understand what impact MCF is having on individual impoverished marginalized orphaned children’s lives, such as Hannah’s. God’s love, grace, power, and hope are made tangible through this amazing ministry.

“ Hannah’s Hope touched my heart! I have had the privilege of going to Mully Children’s Family on more than one occasion and have the privilege of knowing Charles and Esther Mulli personally. But this book allowed me to see the miracle of MCF through new eyes, through a child’s eyes. Paul Boge is an amazing writer and is able by his words to let you feel what Hannah felt on her journey, from the loss and privation she suffered as a small child to the elation she felt at being wanted and being welcomed into a new family, with a mom and dad who loved her.
This journey was a step-by-step process and is told in a very honest, believable way. It deals with her emotional healing and her learning to trust and share her heart again. Through watching Hannah experience life and acceptance at MCF, you experience it along with her—the love she felt from Charles and Esther, from her new sisters she shared a dorm with, from the teachers and pastors and all who served there. Behind everything at MCF, you see God’s love manifested to these children, His heart reaching out to them in healing and restoration, giving them hope for the future. It’s exciting to watch Hannah’s personal journey with God and the way God extends His love for others through her.
Hannah’s time at MCF was not without challenges, whether it was serving those in the slums of Nairobi or taking month-long exams that determined her future. You feel her fears, and they’re real. You also see the steady love of Charles and Esther helping the children know that God has a purpose in all that they go through and that they are loved and valued. Hannah’s story will not only inspire you but also challenge you in your own walk with God. I highly recommend it.”

M y heart is continually moved when I see how children and young mothers suffer due to a lack of nutritious food, shelter, medical care, and parental love. Their lives are characterized by insecurity, abandonment, and rejection. Orphans in particular are the most vulnerable and marginalized group in Kenya.
The plight of orphans and street children caught my attention when a group of street boys organized themselves to steal my car in Nairobi in April 1986. This inc
