Toyota is the world’s most profitable and fastest growing automotive company. Producing nearly 50 percent more automobiles today than it did in 2001, the company’s annual earnings exceed those of all other major automakers combined. Because Toyota has been so successful in such a competitive industry, manufacturing and service companies everywhere are trying to emulate its success.
This is your chance to learn Toyota process improvement techniques from the source. The methods and principles you will see and learn are applicable to any business. This special one-and-a-half day AME workshop and networking session, which includes a facility tour by Toyota personnel and participation in a Toyota kaizen simulation, will reveal how Toyota manages parts distribution and its continuous improvement activities. Learn how the parts distribution center (PDC) has dramatically improved delivery, allowing New England Toyota dealers to order parts today and have them available when they open for business tomorrow. The short lead time from order to delivery has allowed dealers to reduce on-hand inventories and resulting carrying costs.
• Seesimple work organization methods that allow the picking team leader to immediately see the status of orders and any problems encountered every 12 minutes.
• Learnabout Toyota’s respect for people and understand why workers are encouraged to work at a normal pace without being overburdened.
• Participatein a kaizen simulation alongside Toyota associates.
